The Majapahit Kingdom brought the Indonesian Archipelago under one rule.
And that was no mean feat.
Emerging from the empires of Sriwijaya and Mataram, Majapahit ruled for the relatively short time of roughly between 1293-1389.
What they learned from their predecessors was the importance and the skill of maintaining control of the seas around the Indonesian islands.
Without them, our understanding of modern Indonesia would have been a lot different.
