12-Year-Old Australian Boy “Borrows” Parents Credit Card And Escapes To Bali

“I wanted to go on an adventure.” 

Like an Australian sequel to home alone, 12-year-old Drew proved to be savvier than most adults. From his guardians to border control, from banks to airlines – he duped them all. Just to get to the island of the Gods.

After getting into an argument with his parents, Drew hatched his Great Escape. After failing with Garuda and Qantas for being an unaccompanied minor, Jetstar was more than happy to take the kid on his adventure, no questions asked.

According to Channel 9 news:

“For the next four days Drew partied. He hired a motorbike, even though he doesn’t hold a license. They sold him beer. Which he hated.”

After posting a photo on Social Media, authorities tracked his phone and alerted the family to his presence in Bali. Despite Jetstar letting Drew on the flight, his parents were initially prevented from flying because they didn’t have a return ticket.

Eventually, they got their flight to Bali and were reunited with their little runaway rascal.

But not before Drew could rack up a bill of AUD $8,000.

Adventure, indeed.
