VICE Indonesia brings us another instalment of ‘The Pledge’ series, covering the impact of plastic waste on Indonesia’s environment
Plastic waste is one of the greatest threats to our environment. In Indonesia, more than 5.6 million tonnes of plastic is produced every year. The majority of that plastic ends up either in landfills or in our oceans. Something has to be done in order to protect our environment for future generations to come. We’re all guilty of contributing to this global epidemic, so it’s up to all of us to find solutions to this problem and take a stance against improper disposal of plastic.
In “The Pledge,” we investigate and find the people who are trying to curb the momentum of plastic pollution by finding wiser solutions regarding our use of plastic. From these people, we can envision to make our world a cleaner and better place.
