Here's What The Engulfing Haze Looks Like From NASA's Satellites

It seems like all we are hearing in the news these days is about the Haze crisis in Sumatra that is engulfing our neighboring countries. However these pictures taken straight from NASA's satellites about a week ago really put things into perspective...

 NASA said “scientists monitoring the fires are concerned that the problem will get worse before it gets better,” due to the El Niño, which lengthened periods of dry weather and reduced rainfall.

"Conditions in Singapore and south-eastern Sumatra are tracking close to 1997," said Robert Field, a Columbia University scientist based at NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies.

"If the forecasts for a longer dry season hold, this suggests 2015 will rank among the most severe events on record."

According to NASA, the haze which is choking Singapore and Malaysia is on track to be the worst in history. Just to compare, here is what the 2013 haze incident looked like below.
