Agama Uang: This Guy Makes Creative Controversial Song About Modern Indonesian Society

If there's ever been a more blunt commentary on a society, it will be this song. This random 'bulĂ©' man strums his guitar so casually, but the words that come out of his mouth really hit the bullseye.

Titled "Agama Uang" or "The Religion of Money", the song is a parody of "Aku Rapopo" by the popular singer Julia Perez, or JuPe. But his lyrics are filled with criticisms of modern Indonesian values, and are quite good reminders of where society is going wrong today.

Have a watch and listen, this guy amazingly sings 100% in Indonesian (lyrics translated in English below video)

Many people in this world
wait long for their fortune
but there's an easy solution-
become a thief, swindler, gambler
false witness, or corruptor

Do not fear God's judgement
If you're rich
'Wrong' can become 'Right'
If you're powerful
A loss can become a victory

If there's a problem
The mouth becomes silent
Give some money
The 'case' just disappears

What is the problem, man?
You've thrown your morals away

Religion of Money, Religion of Money, Religion of Money
Man, the mental revolution should be NOW
Religion of Money, Religion of Money, No Need for Prayers

Many people in this world
Find their own problems
Crediting stuff here and there
Handphones, laptops, new cars
purchased with such a rush
just for pride and showing off

Finding a partner just for the money
Young, Old, it doesn't matter!
Botox Injections on the lips, getting swollen
Operations to avoid wrinkles
What is the problem, miss? Virginity Missing?

Religion of Money, Religion of Money, Religion of Money

Don't sell yourself so cheap, miss
Value yourself
No need for love, no need for love? Greedy woman.

What is the problem, man?
You've thrown your morals away

Religion of Money, Religion of Money, Religion of Money
